Zero Tolerance: WFC Bans Misconduct

Ljubljana, Slovenia – 28. Avgust

WFC is pleased to announce a new focus on respectful conduct at all of its events, including the upcoming WFC - Brave CF event. This initiative reflects the promotion's dedication to fostering a professional and sportsmanlike atmosphere for fighters, officials, and fans alike.

“We've recently seen a rise in fighters using trash talk and physical altercations at press conferences to generate attention,” says WFC President Zlatko Mahic. “While we understand the desire to promote fights, WFC believes that this kind of behavior detracts from the sport and disrespects the fighters themselves.”

Respect at the Core

WFC's commitment to respectful conduct is outlined in a new clause that will be included in all fighter contracts. This clause emphasizes the importance of:

• Sportsmanship: Fighters are expected to conduct themselves with respect towards opponents, officials, and everyone involved in the event, both inside and outside the ring.

• Verbal Courtesy: Offensive, derogatory, or threatening language is strictly prohibited.

• Professional Demeanor: Physical altercations, including slapping, pushing, or other aggressive actions, will not be tolerated outside of sanctioned competition.

• Avoiding Provocation: Fighters are expected to refrain from any behavior intended to incite a physical altercation or verbal abuse.

Consequences for Violations

Fighters who violate the respectful conduct clause will face consequences, which may include:

• Financial Penalties: Fines, loss of purse money, or other financial sanctions.

• Disciplinary Action: Suspension, demotion in fight cards, or termination of fighting privileges for repeat offenders.

Promoting a Positive Environment

WFC is committed to taking proactive steps to ensure respectful conduct at its events. By implementing these measures, WFC aims to create a positive and professional environment where fighters can showcase their skills and dedication to the sport, while fans can enjoy a competitive and respectful atmosphere.

WFC believes that respecting the sport, the fighters, and the fans is essential to the future of MMA. We are committed to working with our fighters to ensure a successful and enjoyable event for everyone involved.
