Vaso Bakocevic faces Artur Sowiński at KSW 29
Montenegrin Vaso Bakocevic (16-7-1, 5 KO, 6 Sub) will make a quick return the KSW’s circular cage after his impressive performance at KSW 28 in Szczecin. The 25-year-old is set to face Artur “Kornik" Sowiński (14-7, 6 KO, 6 Sub) in the featherweight contest at KSW 29 on December 6th in Kraków.
In his KSW debut ten days ago, Bakocevic put up a grueling battle against KSW lightweight champion Maciej Jewtuszko. “The Pychopath” was ahead on judges’ scorecards after two rounds, but had to succumb to Pole’s kicks in the third stanza. For his second visit Poland, he will drop down to his natural weight class of sixty-six kilograms.
KSW Federation co-owner Maciej Kawulski explains Bakocevic’s quick return to KSW:
Some say that records don’t fight and statistics don’t matter. In regards to our matchmaking, I’d like to add another thing – if you want to fight for KSW, forget about wins and losses, it’s the style that counts. People won’t remember you for your points on judges’ scorecards, but for the exciting action you provide them with. At the end of the day, you’d better leave them with your blood and sweat, not excuses and empty words.
Vaso Bakocevic had a beautiful three-round war with our champion and was really close to beating him. We want to reward our fighters for such thrilling performances. His upcoming bout against Sowiński is a great opportunity for him and another fantastic KSW 29 match-up for our fans.
Besides Sowiński vs. Bakocevic showdown, the December 6th event will feature a triple-header of main event bouts. The best MMA fighter in Poland Mamed Khalidov will battle a yet-to-be-named opponent, in the anticipated heavyweight chlash Mariusz Pudzianowski will face Paweł Nastula, while the KSW middleweight champion Michał Materla will have another title defense. The entire event will be streamed live on www.kswtv.com.
