Uros Velicevic To His Fans: ‘You Are The Best!’
Slovenia’s top K-1 prospect, Uros Velicevic, notched up another win at WFC 17: ‘Olimp Live & Fight,’ handing Alija Tucak his first defeat in the process. Despite a late change in opponent after the withdrawal of Patryk Kowoll, the under-95kg scrapper was undeterred.
“The late change of opponent didn't have any effect on my preparations, because we did nothing special for Patryk,” stated Uros. “We knew that Tucak is a very strong and a powerful fighter. I knew that he would be much stronger than me, but we went into the ring with good technique and good tactics; the result was a win for me.”
Whilst the outcome was as Velicevic wished it to be, he wasn’t satisfied with his showing. He said,
“I wasn't very pleased with my performance, because I didn't do everything my trainer, Rozle Jazbinsek, said to me, but we hope that next time I will do better.”
To wrap up, Uros was asked if he was keen to take on any specific opponents.
“There is nobody I want in particular,” retorted Velicevic. “I just want to fight in the WFC ring. I would like to thank all my fans for support. You are the best!”
