Simone Tessari: ‘Adin Is A Great Opponent For A Great Match’

A winner in all of his professional contests to date, Simone Tessari (7-0) is establishing himself as one of Europe’s top up-and-coming talents. With wins over Caleb Dysert-John (5-3), Claudio Conti (4-1) and Hannes Kepplinger (2-1) already striking on his record, the Italian will be hoping to extend his solid run at WFC 17: ‘Olimp Live & Fight’ when he takes on Adin Buljubasic (4-1) at an 80kg catchweight.

Last month, Buljubasic told WFC.si that he was unimpressed with Tessari, and that the Ferrara-based scrapper’s days as an unbeaten fighter will come to an end at the Hala Tivoli. Simone had a respectful response to this opinion.

“I don’t know if my time to lose has come, but he shouldn’t think he’ll win easily,” noted the 24-year-old. “He has a completely different style from me. From what I’ve seen he likes to stand and strike, but I don't have enough information to be sure of that.”

With the combined wins of both battlers coming inside the distance by KO or TKO, it’s unlikely their tussle will go the full fifteen minutes. Tessari reckons the fans are in for a treat on October 21st. He said,

“There will be fireworks in this match. I will try to impose my game and finish him on the ground. This could well be the ‘fight of the night’ and full of ‘coups de theatre.’ Training is going as well as it can do. I feel well and I'm ready for battle. I hope I give a great performance and a real show to the Slovenian crowd. Adin is a great opponent for a great match.”

Will it be Tessari or Buljubasic that reigns supreme later this month? Tell us on our Facebook page or Twitter.
