Pretorian buys WFC
WFC has been the cornerstone of European MMA scene for many years now. From its humble beginnings it quickly gained popularity in the region and organised events outside of Slovenia. Austria, Bulgaria, Abu Dhabi, .. WFC had become and international brand. Its results were not overlooked. Even more, they have been the deciding factor and as of today we are proud to announce that the Brasilian based company Pretorian has bought the WFC!
We will be stepping on the fast lane in 2014 and you can expect even flashier events from now on. WFC's know-how guarantees a spectacular show, while Pretorian will shook the European market like a tsunami. Pretorian is a premier brand of fighting accessories and well known for its co-operation with World’s elite fighters. Renan Barao, Ronny Markes, Antonio Silva, Johnny Eduardo, and Roy Nelson to name just a few. Truly a specatular list and something WFC will certainly benefit from.
Ruy Drever, Pretorian CEO, is making a turn in his business. Pretorian was previously only known for its sponsorship deal with fighters but now it will enter the market on the other side of ‘the door’. "Martial arts are my passion. We’ve been sponsoring different fighting organisations in the past but I wanted something of my own. I believe that WFC is the best opportunity for us. We’ll be also entering the European market with the Pretorian brand. We are planning on opening gyms and shops all across Europe in the coming months." stated Mr. Drever.
Zlatko Mahic, WFC President, is delighted with the outcome. "It’s a good thing the Pretorian bought WFC. MMA in Europe needs a hard push and what better way to do so than with a help of World’s MMA leading brand. WFC will be back in 2014 with a bang! 4 main events with additional Challengers to follow in the coming months. I would also like to point out that we are planning on a reality TV show – Pretorian ‘Become all you can’ – but I am not at liberty to say anything else at the moment. WFC’s new chapter will include a mandatory Pretorian uniform for all fighters at the events and we will be using Pretorian gloves during the fights. Fans all across Europe be ready as WFC will rock the fighting scene in 2014. Stay tuned for more information!
