Monika Kucinic brings the house down as sold-out crowd roars her on in huge win
The Pitbull was carried to her third BRAVE CF victory by her fans in amazing bout against Italy’s Fabiola Pidroni
Strawweight contender Monika Kucinic did it again. After surviving tough two rounds to finish the fight in the third in her last outing, The Pitbull once again had to go through adversity to emerge victorious and announce herself as the next big thing in the women’s division at BRAVE Combat Federation.
This past Saturday, she was one of the top three fights in the historic, sold-out BRAVE CF 88, in her native Slovenia – a clear sign of her growing reputation as one of the most feared Strawweights in Europe. The show, which took place in association with leading regional promotion WFC, matched her up with multiple-time judo champion and kickboxing standout Fabiola Pidroni, eager to make a mark in her promotional debut under the most global organization in the world.
As she was cruising to a comfortable 10-9 scorecard in the first round, Kucinic was dropped in the last seconds and nearly finished by Pidroni. After that, she had to shake off the cobwebs, and fight on.
It was at this time that the sold-out crowd in Ljubljana picked up the pace, chanting her name and seemingly helping carry Monika to victory, as the next two rounds, she diligently worked on her distance striking, avoided the takedown danger from the judo black belt Pidroni, and ended up, once again, with her hand raised in victory, this time via split decision.
This was Monika’s third straight victory under the BRAVE CF banner, definitely propelling her to superstar status in Slovenian MMA and as the most dangerous fighter in her division in Europe. The Pitbull is now 3-0 under BRAVE CF and is set to become one of the faces of Women’s MMA in Slovenia and Europe for years to come.
