Lightweight rankings
WFC Lighweight division is surely one of the most interesting divisions overall, with Lightweight Champion Hallmann occupying the throne.
Hallmann claimed the title with fury at the WFC 17 when he defeated Bakocevic. Coming into the fight as an underdog for the fans he produced a stellar fight that rightfully earned him the title. The fight itself ended after the Referee Grant Waterman stopped it due to severe cut on his opponents head.
With an impressive professional score of 13 wins and only 1 loss, Hallmann will be defending his title at the end of the year. His opponent and no.2 in the ranking will be Kazunori Yokota from Japan. Yokota is an MMA veteran and he holds a 13-1 score in japanese organization DEEP. He is coming to WFC on a 6 fights winning streak. Black belt in judo, Yokota will have to face excellent stand up technique from Hallmann as he will try to defeat him in December.
No.3 on the list is Swiss legend, Ivan Musardo. Musardo, judo and brasilian jiu-jitsu practicioner is the next man in line that might be given a shoot against the champion. This MMA veteran will be waiting for a slip from Yokota that might put him in the challenger pole position.
Position no.4 and no.5 are occupied with young guns Zerjal and Poschner. Zerjal put on a great show in his debut at WFC 17 and is a fighter that will definitely step up his game in years to come. Jakob Poschner entered the WFC on its feeder show, Challengers, where he got his third career win that put him 3-0.
