Heavyweight Ranking
Heavyweight division is crème de la crème of any combat sport and MMA is no exeption. Fans are eager to see these giants in the ring as they battle for the ultimate prize – Championship belt.
WFC's undisputed Heavyweight Champion, Nandor Guelmino, won his title at WFC 17 when he faced Bulgarian wrestler, Emil Zahariev. At 37 years Nandor is at the top of his career. On 21 October 2012 he won his WFC title and just a few months after that he signed with UFC. A huge success for both Guelmino and WFC. We will be proud to wait him out and until he returns in the WFC he will hold the Heavyweight Title.
Second on the heavyweight top 5 raking is 30-year-old Maro Perak from Croatia. Perak, who ranks in Europe's top 10 heavyweights overall, is in his prime. His last fought with Travis Wiuff in Abu Dhabi and won for the 10th time in his last 12 fights. With only 3 career losses in 26 fights his record speaks for itself. Maro has two wins in WFC and would represent a serious threat to everyone in the heavyweight division should he return in the near future.
Number 3 on the list comes from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jair Goncalves is also 2-0 in WFC with both wins after a submission respectively. It been a while since his last apperance in WFC when he submitted No. 4 on the rankings, Gerald Turek from Austria.
Gerald Turek, who just recently underwent successful knee operation, has 2 wins with 1 loss in WFC. Turek injured himself in training with Guelmino and will be out of action for approximately 2 months. When he returns he will be one of the top challengers of his best friend Guelmino.
Fifth position on the rankings is held by young Bulgarian wrestler, Emil Zahariev. At only 24 years of age he hold a professional record of 20 wins with 5 losses. He was on a 9 fights winning streak when he lost championship fight against Guelmino last year and has already bounced back. He won his next fight and is now eager to return to WFC and prove his worth at one of the biggest stages in Europe.
