October 21st will see the ring return of Denis Maksut, a Slovenian K-1 fighter looking to re-establish himself as one to watch. Ahead of his comeback date, the middleweight has been working relentlessly in the gym and is determined to put on a show the fans will remember.

“I’m very excited to be back and very motivated,” revealed Denis. “I’m training really hard and can’t wait to give an exciting performance on October 21st. I’ve been dealing with some injuries, but I’m now one-hundred percent OK. The absence from the sport gave me extra motivation to return and give the best performance ever.”

Maksut is delighted to feature at WFC 17: ‘Olimp Live & Fight’ and has aspirations of becoming the top competitor in his weight category. On the significance of returning to the World Freefight Challenge, he noted,

“It means a lot, as the WFC is currently the biggest and best organisation in this part of Europe. I also believe that the WFC is still growing. It hasn’t reached its full potential, and I want to help the WFC become even bigger, of course, as a champion. My goal is to become the WFC champion and defend the belt for a long time. I want to prove to everyone that I’m the best.”

Whilst aiming big, Denis must be sure not to look past his opponent next week, the young and hungry Ognjen Topalovic, who is unfazed by the home-fighter’s ambitions. However, Maksut is looking for a special outing at the Hala Tivoli and feels he will deliver in a big way.

“It will be definitely be the most exciting fight of the night,” asserted the K-1 battler. “I will KO him as I need new material for my highlight reel. Don’t blink; it will be fast and furious.”
