DEEP Champion signs for WFC

Yoshiyuki Nakanishi, 27-year-old Japanese Sambo Champion, has signed a contract with WFC "World Freefight Challenge" and will fight at WFC 18: Knockout in June.

Nakanishi, who holds a professional record of 12-2-0 with 1 no contest, is a light heavyweight and the current Depp light heavyweight champion. At Deep 47 Impact, he would edge out two decision victories over Bellator light heavyweight champion, Christian M'Pumbu and Ryuta Noji to win the Deep light heavyweight grand prix and the vacant Deep light heavyweight title.

Nakanishi, a four-time national Sambo champion, who spent most of his career competing in Japan, claims to be very comfortable fighting on his feet but if he can use his Sambo skills to take the fight to the ground he won't hesistate.

His debut fight in WFC will be against Aleksandar "Rodja" Radosavljevic who's returning to WFC. Japanese Sambo champion versus skilled WFC veteran from Serbia promises to be a fight to watch. It will be Nakanishi's just second fight outside Asia after his no contest against Melvin Manhoef in 2012.

Rodja who aims at the light heavyweight title will have a tough task in front of him, as Nakanishi will be looking to make his name in Europe after a huge success in Japan. We will have to wait an see for ourselves who will achieve his goal when the fighters collide in the ring.
