Bakocevic – the new breed of MMA fighters (part 1)
Vaso Bakocevic has 26 professional fights behind him, in less than 5 years since turning pro. Quite a lot for a sportsman, that earns his living fighting in the ring.
It's hard to rest your body when you fight a lot, but Vaso is addicted with the MMA and he lives for fighting. ''I remember switching my TV on and two guys fighting in a cage. It immediately caught my attention and from that moment on I was hooked!'', Vaso described his first contact with world of MMA. As many young men, Vaso was seeking for a way out of trouble and sport once again proved to be the best cure. ''I was a troubled teen, had my share of wrongdoings when growing up, but I was determined that I'll find my mojo and give something back to the world.''
That was over 5 years ago, now he's one of the most talented fighters in the Balkans and on a mission to prove his worth at the biggest stages. Bakocevic belongs to a class of pure MMA fighters since he has none martial arts background whatsoever. Being a boxer or a BJJ expert can cause problems for some as they get pulled into the MMA world. He on the other hand has been mixing different styles from the very beginning.
An approach that is starting to bring results if we look back on Bakocevic's career in 2014. He’s won the WFC lightweight belt just recently and had fought in one of Europe's biggest organizations two times last year. Now he's coming to Abu Dhabi to prove his worth.
Stay tuned to AD Warriors and their Facebook and Twitter as they bring you more of Vaso in the next week.
