ADW 2 KO of the Night: Jimmy ″Judo″ Wallhead
Wallhead vs. Ribeiro was definitely a fight that surprised many, specially the ending. And what an ending that was! It was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu versus Judo but ended up with an electrifying punch.
Brazilian born Rodrigo ''Ximbica'' Ribeiro is a 4-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He’s involved with the UAE Armed Forced through advanced BJJ training. He had the crowd behind him the second he entered the IPIC Arena. Ribeiro is one of many exceptionally skilled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experts who spread their knowledge in the Emirates. Abu Dhabi Warriors mission goes hand in hand with UAEJJ Federation vision of making the United Arab Emirates the premier venue for Jiu-Jitsu in the world. Promotion of Jiu-Jitsu as a way of living and emphasizing all the advantages that this sport brings is a noble goal that the Abu Dhabi Warriors wants to be known by.
30-year-old Wallhead is a former Cage Gladiators British Welterweight and Clash of Warriors Welterweight champion. He's won 26 of his 35 professional MMA fights. A Judo black belt, Wallhead has 10 wins via submission in his professional career, but on the other hand he also had 9 KO’s prior to the ADW 2.
Fans expected a tactical fight since both Warriors are experts of the grappling game and this fight suggested to be a spectacle for grappling fans from all over the world. But nevertheless they got money’s worth on the night AD Warriors returned to the capital of UAE.
There was an unintentional move from Ribeiro soon after the bell ranged for the beginning of Round 1, but it was totally unintentional kick to the groin of Wallhead. The Brit soon regained his mojo and started to move forward. It didn’t took him long as his right hand connected with the Ribeiro’s cheekbone. It was a thunderous punch! Straight right hand to the face that knocked Ribeiro through the ropes. Three minutes and it was all over. Wallhead added another victory to his resume.
