A look back in 2006
WFC has evolved tremendously since its start in 2006. Nearly 7 years ago in Koper, Slovenia, fans witnessed a fight between two true MMA legends that are still very much active.
Jose ''Pele'' Landi-Jons was one the the first global stars that WFC brought into its ring which was almost unthinkable at the time. But WFC's President Zlatko Mahic was not only dreaming big, he kept his word and built the biggest organisation in the region and beyond.
Landi-Jons apperance at WFC 2: Evolution was a success as he faced a much younger competitor in the likes of Alexander Shlemenko. It was Shlemenko's second consecutive loss againt the experienced Brazilian, but the Russian had built his career in the Bellator in the following years.
Let's take a look back in 2006 and their fight as we remember one of the turning points in the WFC history. We've come a long way and we ain't stopping!
